We all know about the power of a first impression! (I hope your first impression of the website was a good one! haha) When it comes to your interior, the hallway can be that space to blow you away at first sight!
In a lot of houses I visit, the hallway doesn’t get most of the attention it deserves. It is treated like a practical space for coats, shoes and bags. Don’t get me wrong I love being practical, you need to be able to use it properly and have space for your stuff. But with all that in mind you can still transform the space into something special! Treat it with care, make it beautiful and it can be your daily runway on the way out! Have a great day!!
PS. still working on our own hallway too! We need a new front door, some paint and the last styling items to finish it off! So no tour of our own hallway yet, but a lot of inspiration from Pinterest with some tips from me! Enjoy!
This design trick is pretty old because it works! Make a small space look bigger with a mirror. This stunning hallway is designed by Gordon-Duff & Linton.
Do you like clean and bright, but you don’t want it to become boring? Add some spice to your hallway with beautiful light fixtures. Absolutely love this hallway! (Unfortunately designer unknown)
Because most hallways can be pretty narrow, using an entry console can do the trick to create the illusion of more space. Done by the talented duo of public311design.
Another beautiful version of a hallway using the entry console and a round mirror. This is an example of Nicole Watts in New York.
How beautiful is this colorful rug, I just love rugs. In this case it pops a bit of colour in a bright and basic hallway! And you got yourself your own little runway! 😉 Inspiration form My Domaine.
Use your staircase as your masterpiece in the hallway! I love this one with the original wood showing. Besides the staircase this floor is an amazing eye-catcher too!
Another option to let the staircase steal the show is using a stair runner. In this picture architect Peter Legge used a green carpet stair runner that spills into a puddle on the floor to soften this entry.
